Woodlands serves as a decent stopover in Lilongwe, featuring spacious, private chalets with a nice outdoor seating area overlooking the bush. While the dining options were quite limited and the breakfast could use improvement, I enjoyed a pleasant dinner with Indian dishes. However, the hotel definitely needs some updates as there were issues with cleanliness and maintenance during my stay.

Rooms

The chalets are spacious and offer a safari feel, providing a comfortable outdoor sitting area. However, the rooms are quite outdated.
Service

The service was a bit disorganized, especially with the payment policy, but they were usually helpful with my requests.
Location

Set within a quiet, wooded area not far from the city center, the location has great potential, although it does experience some nighttime noise.
Dining

The dining experience was underwhelming, with a rather bare breakfast selection and a modest dinner, but I appreciated the Indian emphasis in the meals I tried.

While the facilities, including the paths to the rooms, need attention and modern upgrades, they do offer a lovely setting among trees.

Woodlands is a good choice for a stopover in Lilongwe, with spacious rooms and a nice restaurant offering a variety of delicious meals. While the peaceful ambiance was appealing, the noise from nearby parties and the road was a downside. Despite some minor service slowness, the unique atmosphere and wildlife sightings made the experience worthwhile.

I recently had a stay at this hotel surrounded by a peaceful wooded area in the heart of Lilongwe. The quiet ambiance was a great escape, and I appreciated the natural beauty nearby. The dining experience left something to be desired, with issues in menu execution. The service could be improved, especially given the awkward check-in process. Overall, it's a lovely spot for nature lovers, but there are certainly areas to refine.

Rooms

The rooms felt quite comfortable and had a nice safari feel, with lovely Egyptian cotton sheets. There was an outdoor seating area that offered a great view of the bush.
Service

Service was a bit lacking. I had to pay for my room in advance, which felt awkward, and there was no one around to address my inquiries satisfactorily.
Location

The location is beautiful, set within a wooded area that felt semi-wild yet not too far from town. I loved seeing the wildlife, like the wild monkeys and various birds.
Dining

Dining had good potential but missed the mark during my visit. I ordered a pepper steak, but it was not what I expected at all. The quality didn’t match the price.

I had mixed feelings about my stay at this hotel. The rooms, while spacious and tucked away in a quiet area, were in dire need of modern upgrades and better cleaning. It has a nice location in a green part of the city but unfortunately the dining experience left much to be desired. The restaurant's vegetarian options were a highlight, but overall, the value for money does not match what is offered.

Rooms
5.0
The chalets are spacious but quite dated, and cleanliness could be improved.
Service

Service was somewhat lackluster, with no management presence when issues arose.
Location

Woodlands was a decent stop for us in Lilongwe. The room was spacious and allowed us to enjoy some wildlife from the verandah. Dinner had great flavors, especially with the Indian dishes on offer. Sadly, the noise levels at night were a letdown, disrupting what should have been a tranquil stay. Additionally, my dinner experience was marred by a tough steak that didn't live up to expectations. Overall, a mixed experience.

Rooms
8.0
The room was spacious with a big wardrobe and a verandah, allowing us to sit and enjoy the view.
Service
5.0
I found the service a bit lacking, especially when it came to addressing my concerns about the meal - the manager never came to our table even after requesting.
Location
7.0
The hotel is situated in a nice area, and the Farmer's Market held in the grounds was a delightful surprise.
Dining
5.0
Dinner was good, especially the Indian dishes, but the breakfast options were repetitive and didn't cater to our preferences.
